A small town

There is a humble little town called Longreach.

According to Wikipedia, Longreach is a town located in central western Queensland, Australia and is approximately 700 kilometres from the coast, west of Rockhampton. The town is named after the 'long reach' of the Thomson River on which it is situated and was gazetted a town in 1887. In 1892, the railway reached the town, and the population began to grow. It is the administrative centre of the Longreach Local Government Area.

If you read further, you'll find that Longreach is also the home of Qantas Founders Outback Museum, which has some of the world's most awesome collection of aircraft. And a big-a** Boeing 747-200, a retiree from the national airline of the country. You probably don't wanna miss out the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, where you get to know some history about famous Aussie stockmen and Aborigines.

Most importantly this is the place where Glenn grew up, and where I made a few doggy friends.

Here are some pictures of the business district, a.k.a. where all the shops are.

Antique bicycle outside a pub

Seafood shop, yummmm........

A place where the locals bowl

Must have hotel & dentist too

Most importantly the booze... burp...

This time I didn't have any pictures of the museums (because we went to both museums few years ago), so I had to go 'borrow' from Reef n Outback Rail Tours and Australian Traveller.

So if you happened to be holidaying in Queensland, or living in Australia, and would love see more stuff down-under-ish, or outback-ish, Longreach is always there for ya. (wonder why this ended up like an tourism board advertisement)

Buddha in the garden

Ever wonder why the buddhas in Ayutthaya kept going missing and some of them have no heads?

Because some of them are in your bl***y garden!

I hope Glenn's parents don't get offended because these were shot in their garden, and yes, its just another lame Buddha joke :D

KL Bird Park

Trust me, one of the many difficult things to photograph is bird, because the d*** thing just wouldn't stop moving, its like ocd... obsessive compulsive disorder... yaiks...

Went to the KL Bird Park few months ago to practise my lousy skill, and as usual, out of the 200 or so pictures, only 5 are ok to be put on this blog (there might be none qualified if measured by professional standards)
